Assess the people

Effective change management extends beyond communication and training. Examine leadership commitment, understanding, enthusiasm, and preparedness among the people affected. Two-way conversations help identify resistance, fear, and practical obstacles before they become entrenched.

Assess the organization

Review alignment, change capacity, process maturity, incentives, and the culture’s response to previous initiatives. A good solution can still struggle in an exhausted organization or one whose measures reward old behaviors. Build sustainment into operating responsibilities.

Assess the project

Clarify the business case, decision rights, solution viability, schedule, and risks to adoption. Adapt the amount of change-management effort to the situation so the process supports rather than overwhelms staff. A balanced plan connects implementation with the conditions required to maintain quality, access, experience, and operational improvements.
