Challenge
A major cereal manufacturer needed forty-five food safety plans submitted for internal approval before its September 19, 2016 FSMA milestone. Plant quality teams were already fully occupied, and the program lacked a dedicated execution lead.
Response
PMO Partners developed an integrated roadmap while execution continued in parallel. Weekly reviews resolved interpretation questions, monitored progress, expedited approvals, and redirected resources to plants needing support.
Outcome
Thirty-seven plans had been submitted by September 14 and the remainder by September 17. The team transferred continuing tasks to an internal supervisor with control and communication plans for updates, training, and procedure changes. The result concerns the reported 2016 program milestone; food safety plans still required ongoing maintenance as operations changed.
