Challenge
A 205-bed hospital faced long emergency department waits, nearly eight-hour admission stays, and a high rate of patients leaving without treatment. Leadership needed coordinated operational improvement.
Response
PMO Partners scoped and prioritized the program, then led planning and implementation. Changes included stronger triage staffing, a team-based care model, a fast-track location, supply organization, and clearer measurement. Employees contributed through project teams and a continuous improvement committee.
Outcome
By November 2015, admitted-patient length of stay had fallen by ninety minutes and the left-without-treatment rate declined from 7.5% to 4.2%. Reported patient satisfaction also improved from a low baseline. Changes remained in place four months after the engagement, supported by continued staff and leadership involvement.
