A multiyear improvement journey
An October 2020 announcement highlighted C. Richard Panico’s essay in the Journal of Performance Excellence. It described PMO Partners’ four-and-a-half-year journey leading to a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Learning that continues after recognition
The essay examined the commitment required to assess strategy, the business model, performance measures, and improvement opportunities objectively. Its message was that recognition should follow meaningful organizational learning rather than become the sole purpose of the effort.
Leadership endurance and continuing improvement remained central after the award. This archive describes the historical essay and the journey it discussed; it does not suggest that an award ends the work of sustaining organizational performance.
