Challenge
A multibillion-dollar alliance linked two international companies across multiple assets and development stages. Detailed committee governance existed, but successive alliance manager departures threatened continuity. Cultural differences, rotating leaders, and contractual restrictions added complexity.
Response
PMO Partners supplied an interim alliance manager for nine months. The consultant built relationships across both organizations, coordinated executive decision-making, scheduled around international needs, and prepared committee leadership handovers early. Practical disagreements were resolved at the right level, with patient needs and shared goals providing context.
Outcome
Projects and workstreams remained on track while the client recruited and onboarded a permanent manager. At publication, the alliance remained functional and stable; individual assets had been approved, remained in development, or had been discontinued strategically. The result demonstrates continuity of partnership management rather than a claim that every development asset succeeded.
An edited client story. Outcomes and figures describe the reported engagement, rather than a promise of results for another organization.
