Challenge
A startup biotech and an established pharmaceutical partner needed to commercialize an oncology therapy. The program was central to the biotech’s viability and the pharmaceutical company’s oncology ambitions, with many functions and locations involved.
Response
PMO Partners built a shared project structure and comprehensive launch plan. Activities, timing, responsibilities, communications, and progress tracking gave nearly 150 executives and employees a common basis for execution.
Outcome
Promotion began within a week of FDA approval of the new drug application, with patient availability shortly afterward. Both partners regarded the launch process as a model for later programs. The case concerns the historical launch described, rather than an endorsement of a specific treatment.
