The quarterly theme

PMO Partners selected therapeutic horsemanship for its first-quarter 2016 Project Mercy effort. The source described programs using horses and equine-assisted activities to support people with disabilities across several areas of daily development and wellbeing.

Work behind the programs

Eastern-region volunteers painted stalls and prepared an indoor riding ring at BINA Farm Center in Massachusetts. Chicago colleagues participated in the DuPage Human Race to raise funds for Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities. Local teams selected opportunities suited to their communities. This item preserves the original volunteer activities and does not make new clinical claims about the effectiveness of particular therapies.
