Challenge

A retailer serving more than 6,000 member stores faced declining sales and a category-review process taking seven to eight months. Unclear methods and weak communication caused missed milestones.

Response

PMO Partners supported active reviews while redesigning the process using Lean Six Sigma practices. Standard policies, tools, and documentation connected merchandising, logistics, marketing, and IT across eight subprocesses.

Outcome

Cycle time fell from eight months to four. The program completed 50 category reviews scheduled for 2005 without disrupting member order-fill service during the transition. Completed review categories generated 8 percent revenue growth. The source was published later, but these project dates remain historical.
