Challenge

A global company faced SKU proliferation, weak product management, reactive planning, and unreliable operating information. Earlier cost initiatives had not resolved the underlying problems.

Response

PMO Partners and client teams assessed the portfolio, forecast, manufacturing capacity, comparative production costs, warehousing, and distribution. Product rationalization informed a revised demand baseline. The team evaluated footprint alternatives against feasibility, cost, risk, timing, and savings, then implemented sixteen initiatives.

Outcome

The source reports an $11.2 million cost reduction and a 29% reduction during the project without compromising service. Operating improvements also reduced finished goods inventory and strengthened capacity and portfolio management. The analysis connected commercial requirements with manufacturing decisions rather than treating each location independently.

An edited client story. Outcomes and figures describe the reported engagement, rather than a promise of results for another organization.
