Design for adoption
Projects deliver value when people adopt new ways of working. Incorporate stakeholder impacts, communication, training, feedback, and adoption measures into delivery practices. Larger or higher-risk initiatives may need a dedicated change workstream, with responsibilities extending throughout implementation.
Look across the portfolio
A team can absorb only so much change at once. PMOs can reveal overlapping rollouts, conflicting process demands, and groups carrying disproportionate disruption. Use that view to adjust sequencing, combine related changes, and help executives weigh benefits against adoption risk. Recognizing saturation early protects both people and the strategic outcomes the portfolio is intended to achieve.
